Despite being heavily snowed under at work we both managed to get away for a long weekend in Scotland. During this time we did quite a few things including,
Here’s a few pictures from some of those events,

Traquair House

Rosslyn Chapel

Stobo Castle

Dawyck Botanic Gardens

Dalhousie Castle
and one more from the grounds of Rosslyn Chapel,

I’ve been looking through the darkest depths of my
Flickr stream and came across an old picture I took of the Angel of the North about 3 years ago. I compared this with a shot I took recently of the statue and pretty chuffed with the amount of progress I have made in that 3 years.
See what you think for yourself.

Another shot I took during my strobist session with Andy was this series which he gave me a little help with. The Photoshoping is a bit dodgy but I reckon I could rework the “Hear No Evil” shot and make it look a touch more convincing.
Overall I like the feel of this though.

My friend Andy came to visit this weekend and we took loads of photos. Today we had a bit of a play with some strobist gear and after a bit of a false start (my triggers died so we could only use 1 flash) we had a fairly productive session.
Here’s a few examples from the shots I took, be sure to look at Andy’s set of pictures

This picture has been featured along with a picture by my friend John Dolan in article about self portraits on the Photocritic website. Needless to say I’m very pleased.
Check out the Photocritic article on self portraits.

It was Gillian’s birthday recently so I took her on a trip to Forbidden Corner where we had a absolutely wonderful day. Here’s a few shots from our visit,

More can be found in the Forbidden Corner set on my Flickr stream.

Its been a while I know but I’m snowed under at work so have barely touched a camera of late. The blogs a bit of a mess at the moment but hopefully I should be getting in sorted into a new website design over the next couple of months.
In the meantime here’s an old picture I took some months ago and never published I don’t know why but I quite like it.

More sets to follow from Edinburgh and Forbidden Corner……

For those of you living in the West Yorkshire area you may be interested in the new Exposure Leeds website. If you live in the area and are keen on photography it’s definitely worth a look.
If you’re not local it’s still worth a look anyway as they’re some great pictures on there.
Check it out, Exposure Leeds

Continuing the recent subject of books my friend and recent portrait model Steve Mosby’s new book Still Bleeding is now available. Get your copy here.
I’m pleased so say Steve’s blog is now back online which is very welcome return. Go have a look at The Left Room
